If elected Mayor of Nags Head, I will work for:
I have served on the Board of Commissioners for 16 years. For the last year I have had the privilege of serving as Mayor. I stand on my record of fiscal responsibility, environmental protection and controlled growth. I am proud of the town Nags Head has become and look forward to an even brighter future. I would appreciate your support on November 6th. I endorse the Town of Nags Head Vision Statement. I hope you will take time to review it. It defines the Nags Head we want to become and outlines the elements we must emphasize if we are to achieve this vision. This web site is designed to help you understand my views

Responsible Government A responsible government is one that works to ensure
the common good while protecting individual rights. Responsible government
treats all fairly and does not favor any one group or interest. Responsible
government uses its financial resources wisely. In my service to the Town, I have followed these ideals. If elected, they will remain the foundation our government
Protecting Our EnvironmentNags Head must act now to ensure its future. We must work to protect water quality in the ocean and the sounds from storm water runoff. Additionally, we must move to protect the remaining open space in our town by purchasing undeveloped property along the bypass and beach road. In order to maintain my independence and to promote responsible government, I have not accepted campaign contributions in the past and will not in this election.

As a Commissioner, I spearheaded planning efforts in a variety of areas including Capital Improvements and Water Quality. I support the development of a 20 year plan to help the Town take advantage of the opportunities the future will offer. Planning has shaped the Nags Head of today and will create the Nags Head of the future.
